NEXUS 7 comes to INDIA

For those who’ve been trying to track down long lost friends, distant cousins and/or friends-of-a-friends in the US to get their hands on Google’s Nexus 7, the company has decided to bring it to you instead. In a bid to make their product more accessible and widely available, the tech giant has released its popular Nexus 7 tablet in India, just about a month after launching Google Play Books in the country. For now, only the 16GB WiFi-only model of the Nexus 7 is available to Indian customers, at a price of `15,999. Google Play lists a ship date of April 5, and though not the cheapest tablet on the block, it’s a good start to perhaps a better availability of Google products in the country. On the other hand, as to how well it’ll sell is another matter altogether. However, the Google Play store in India only offers apps, games, and books, so users will certainly be limited to the amount of content that they’ll be able to stuff onto their new Nexus 7 tablets, but hopefully more favoured content like movies, music, and more may become available soon.

It is the first tablet in Google nexus series implementing the Android operating system and built by an original equipment manufacturer (OEM).

The NEXUS 7 features a 7 inch display an Nvidia Tegra 3 quad-core chip , 1GB of RAM and 8,16or 32GB of internal storage. It has a built in Wi-fi and near field connectivity(NFC).

It is not a GSM device it wont work on any GSM network worldwide. It also has no support for SMS and MMS.
