Just like VoIP calling for iOS, Facebook include a new feature in its Messenger app for android update. This update would allow free calling for users in US. This free calling service was launched for Canadian Android users in early March.

Calling a friend using Facebook messenger is very easy. You just need to tap the "i" button inside a conversation and then select Free Call. If you are using Chat Heads to message friend, you need to tap the three dots next to the person's name to move the conversation to the messenger app before you can make a call.

As of now, 24 countries have access to the VoIP calling on Android and considering the pace at which Facebook has planned to update its new home launcher for Android, it would not be long before making calls feels as integrated as messaging with chat heads.
