Apple's next-generation iPhone may be the first model in the series to take on big-screen Android flagships. According to Topeka Capital analyst Brian White, the rumoured Apple flagship phone will be available in several screen sizes.

Citing data he gathered after a meeting with a "tech-supply chain company," White said that the upcoming phone will come in at least two and possibly three screen sizes. However, he did not say what screen sizes Apple may opt for while developing the next-generation iPhone.

White wrote in an investors note, "We believe Apple is coming around to the fact that one size per iPhone release does not work for everyone, and offering consumers an option has the potential to expand the company's market share." He also said that the new iPhone will be showcased in July this year.

After this report, tech industry is abuzz with speculation about a big-screen iPhone that will give competition to Android-powered rivals like Samsung Galaxy S4, HTC Butterfly and LG Optimus G Pro in terms of screen real estate.

Coming to the pricing of these phones, White wrote in the investors note, "Our research is now indicating that we should not expect the price to dip below $300 and those expecting a $150 to $200 iPhone will be disappointed. We have previously discussed an [average selling price] of $250 to $300 for a lower priced iPhone; however, a price tag of $300 to $350 now makes more sense."

Currently, iPhones are available in two screen sizes - 3.5-inch (used in five iPhone models) and 4-inch (only used in iPhone 5).

Previously, White said that Apple will not stick to just white and black colours for iPhone 5S and introduce multiple colour options. He said that the company may offer the device in as many as eight colours at the time of launch.

Several analysts have earlier said that Apple will unveil iPhone 5S in late June this year and launch it by July.
